ASA (formerly known as “Toilet Tuesday”) is an initiative that creates a space for young people to discuss and design solutions to improve urban sanitation in their communities. Through casual and interactive gatherings, participants can share ideas, exchange insights, and develop concrete proposals to be submitted to city governments.
The primary goal of ASA is to generate practical and locally relevant recommendations for sanitation improvements that can create a positive impact on both the environment and the community. By emphasizing collaboration and innovative approaches, this initiative empowers young people to drive sustainable change in urban sanitation.
In Indonesia, the first ASA was held in 2023, featuring a relaxed and open format that encouraged young people to connect and share their perspectives on local sanitation challenges. Moving forward, ASA aims to incorporate technology-based solutions, particularly in wastewater treatment, to make a tangible contribution to improving urban sanitation.
